I will first state that I did mod my console and played some pirated games, judge me how you will on that, etc.Here's a few things that scratch my head, and I'd love to see some end results.#1. Banned users were xbox live users, I don't know what percent were gold/silver but I subscribed, paid 8.65 a month after tax and bought lots of things off live, I tallied it up last night, over 250 / yr I spent on xbla/addons.Did that give me any right to mod my console/pirate some games, hell no. But I'm wondering how much revenue MS has gambled on banning all those consoles, that is live subs per year vs re buying a new console.#2. Corrupting HDD and disable features. Random saves were disabled and streaming has been disabled. I can't disable avi/xvid/divx anymore from a network drive, it tells me it requires xbox live, and I'm not alone. Also if you installed a game to the HD that has been disabled, and random saves were corrupted.Why? What was the point, now if I do buy a console I can't cheap out and buy an arcade and put my HDD into the new console. Again, I'd like to see the argument on #1, about the live revenue loss.#3. Did they not consider if they banned all these people and they truly believe people will go out and buy a new console and be 'legit' why wouldn't they go PS3. That's what I'm doing. If I have to be legit, and I do, I am going PS3. 299 and I get a Hard Drive, it does Blu Ray and streams more files than 360, also I just can't pinpoint a 360 Exclusive anymore that makes it worth mentioning.#4. Due to the ban I can now pirate games and play them before street if I want, I just lose online. That's what many people feel now, I never played a pirated game online (I own retail of Madden 10, GTA IV, Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST, Borderlands), the only pirated games I owned were Dragon Age/ Assassins Creed I, and the last few Guitar Heroes all of which I didn't play online.So yes, I get why they did it, but they've given me a real wake up call in other ways, I dont need the 360, and I didn't need Live, MS has just cut me off even though I never got around to do it. Now PSN will get my money for arcade games, etc.I regret losing a 200 dollar console over pirated maybe 5 games, but I knew the risk when I took it.
